I'm Maria McGrath, and I founded McGrath Accounting in 2024. With a passion for numbers and a dedication to helping businesses thrive, my journey started with a wonderful accounting teacher in rural Ireland. After graduating from Dublin City University with a degree in Accounting and Finance, I embarked on a journey that led me to London, where I earned my ACCA (Chartered Association of Certified Accountants) qualification.
Throughout my career, I've climbed the ranks from accouting clerk to CFO level, gaining invaluable experience in smaller companies. My expertise extends to California, where I've assisted numerous businesses, and now, I'm excited to bring my services to online clients utilizing QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Besides numbers, I am deeply involved in the McGuire Programme - Beyond Stuttering. This program played a pivotal role in helping me overcome my own stutter, and now, I am committed to helping others do the same. Currently residing in Santa Barbara with my husband and our mini Goldendoodle, I find joy in walks, tennis, travel, and frequent visits to my beloved Ireland.

Most bookkeepers just perform basic data entry. We go further, helping you interpret the numbers and advising you on the decisions you can make to grow your business.
+ How much does it cost?
Your monthly fee will be based on your specific situation. And while our fees are competitive with other bookkeepers, we go above and beyond basic bookkeeping to help your business grow. In all cases, the growth of your business will far outweigh the investment you make in your bookkeeping!
+ Does it matter where my business is located or what industry I'm in?
Nope! We are US-based, remote bookkeepers who work with clients across the country by leveraging the latest tech that also helps us work as efficiently as possible, saving us time and you money. And our bookkeepers have worked with a wide variety of industries, so they'll bring that experience to your business.
+ Is there a contract?
Nope! Your relationship with your bookkeeper will be month-to-month and you can make changes at any time.
+ How often will I communicate with my bookkeeper?
As often as you like! At a minimum, you'll have the opportunity to review performance every month, but we're always available for a call or Zoom to answer questions or provide advice.
+ Will you clean up my messy books?
Absolutely! Clean books are essential for making good decisions for your business, as well as minimizing your tax liability. We'll ensure everything's perfect, giving you the peace of mind to run your business (and sleep at night)!
+ What specific services are included?
We're able to handle any financial aspect of your business, including sending invoices, paying bills, managing payroll, sales tax, inventory management, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and much more!
+ What bookkeeping software do you use?
Our bookkeepers are advanced certified in QuickBooks, the #1 accounting software in the world. You will always maintain ownership and control of your books while we work inside them.
+ Will you also do my taxes?
While we don't prepare taxes, we do have CPAs we partner with who do. Our CPA partners are also able to perform advanced tax planning, ensuring you pay as little tax as legally allowed.
